• Consistency with discipline – don’t threaten something if you don’t follow through
  • Questions don’t need to be painfully simple, but not overly complex
  • Leading a game/being the central person is a good reward and can help deal with troublemakers
  • Don’t use sarcasm, they don’t get it
  • Give specifics when explaining games
  • Be positive about being involved in the game- energy is infectious
  • Empower them to involve their classmates by choice instead of forcing them to do it
  • Try to make them more open to trying new games so you don’t repeat their one “favorite game” over and over
  • Use their “favorite game” as a reward at the end
